Hey, it’s Andy,
Quick refresh: Management Craft is a library of what great managers actually do.
I’ve spent the last few months rebuilding it around two things: competencies (what you need to get good at) and tools (frameworks great managers use).
Every page on Management Craft synthesizes three sources of knowledge:
- My experience coaching dozens of venture-backed CEOs and founding companies myself.
- Operating founders and leaders’ own stories published in books, blog posts, and podcasts.
- Academic research across management, psychology, and more.
The first competency, Defining roles, will help you turn a vague hiring need into a clearly defined and documented standard your team can use to consistently evaluate candidates. It’s paired with The MOC, a tool to help you write a one-page brief for a role this week. All of this is part of a complete rebuild. Read the release notes.
Cheers,
Andy
P.S. If you find this useful, forward it to someone on your team. Or if you’re feeling generous, sharing it on LinkedIn or X would go a long way. Thank you!
