Since 2015 he has run The Interaction Consortium, a software and strategy consultancy, becoming CEO in 2016 [1]. His management-adjacent output there is applied, not theoretical: he co-authored a 2014 CSIRO-commissioned foresight report on innovation challenges facing Australia’s galleries, libraries, archives and museums [1], and he writes a recurring series of practitioner explainers on the Interaction Consortium’s blog [2], among them the Business Model Canvas, the Value Proposition Canvas, and the piece Management Craft cites, “Pioneers, Settlers, Town Planners – How Innovation Works” (2018) [3].
That piece is the whole basis for citing him, and it holds up on its own terms: it correctly credits Simon Wardley with deriving Pioneers, Settlers, Town Planners from Robert Cringely’s Accidental Empires, rather than presenting the framing as Mansfield’s own idea [3].
